How important is art to society? Is art important to us…to you? Is art important to God? Well, everything that is manmade around us involves an artist. The artist might be the creative force behind an idea, or commission, to develop an idea into a workable form. Perhaps the artist will bring a visual concept to an end user or one who will pass it on for further massaging in order to refine it for presentation.

  We can see art through God’s creation. He is the creator who brought His creation into reality. He went about conceptualizing what He wanted to do and executed His plan to completion and our benefit.

When Solomon was commanded to build a temple for God the artisans were called first. The craftsmen were called next to execute the project. Construction began.

  I want to mention various art forms to illustrate the importance and wide reaching impact of art upon our world and society. Jesus was a woodworker. Paul was a writer and tent maker. David was a musician and singer. The wife of noble character, described in Proverbs 31:10-31, is a role model many look up to. Her skills and talents relating to her ability in the design and making of articles of value with her hands are to be desired.

  I am honored to be included with the cadre of artists who, regardless of talent and level of experience, can express what they feel in their hearts and minds through their voices and fingertips.
